In my last book on ostomies,
that past work covered it with ease.
My mind told me the field was small
to find so many rhymes at all.
I might not for the life of me
write any more on ostomy.
There seemed no more for me to verse
within the osto-
But then before the book was done,
I went and penned another one.
By now too late to publish it,
I wondered where the verse would fit.
I won’t let verses go to waste,
as I don’t like the aftertaste.
I’d slide the poem to one side,
so I could think and then decide.
But as the time would drift on by,
another rhyme I could espy.
This story would repeat itself,
‘till several more were on the shelf.
I browsed around and took a look,
and found that I had half a book.
But when you find you’ve just one part,
then this is when the work must start.
I guess there was not near enough
unless I wrote more of this stuff.
The subject needs much more regard,
even though such work is hard.
I sat and pondered every day,
and wondered what on earth to say.
But then a verse would call to me
all about my ostomy.
Don’t fret, we’ve done enough at last,
so let this stuff in print be cast.
