I sing this song for caregivers

right up and down the land.

For we are blessed that they’re with us

to lend a helping hand.

There are so many jobs they do

and many roles they play.

So much we owe to just a few

who work with us each day.

They make our meals and brew us tea

and what I always find

is all the time they care for me,

they never seem to mind.

Sometimes they have some awful jobs,

they’ll do for you and me.

They’ll change my diapers and sore swabs

and clean up my poo and pee.

They help me get up from my bed

and get me dressed as well.

They wash my clothes and my bedstead

to make sure I don’t smell.

They take me out all bright and clean

to give me happiness.

They listen when I vent my spleen

with all my crappiness.

But what I like the very best

about these lovely folk.

Is their ability to jest

and smile, and share a joke.

So sing this song for caregivers

right up and down the land.

For we are blessed they’re there with us

to lend a helping hand.
